Hi – I am Vivien, welcome to my website

I am based just outside Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, UK and have been persuaded by my family & friends to turn a hobby I love, painting artwork on children's furniture, into a business named VivArt. 

I am also dog and horse mad and have two rescue dogs and one rescue pony - hence my interest in animal and nature!

My philosophy is simple, I feel passionate about recycling good quality old wooden furniture – stop that old piece of furniture going in the skip or chopped up for firewood!  Hence most of my work is so far Granny’s 'throw outs', old school chairs and desks, bedside cabinets, small chests of drawers, and anything else salvageable!

All this makes for a lot of hard work - cleaning, sanding, filling, painting even before starting the artwork!

But the end product is ohhh so satisfying :-)

New product:  After visiting the slate mines in Wales I decided that the slate itself would make a good medium for my artwork hence started doing hand painted coasters in any design or with any of my usual artwork subjects - some of the more popular subjects are cockerels, kittens, hedge hogs and all varieties of flowers.  Purchased individually or in sets - the turnaround for these are relatively quick.
